Maldives is famous for its beach holidays and private water bungalows. Yet again, scuba diving is the next biggest excitement during Maldives Holidays. If your honeymoon rocks in a water bungalow, so will all the other fun-filled water sports offered in Maldives resorts. Hundreds on kilometers away from the island, all the atolls are a group of coral reef islands. This means you will have access to excellent crystal clear lagoons with abundant underwater life.
Now imagine it, isn’t this the greatest place on the globe for photographers and travelers to visit? Magnificent photos can be taken during Maldives Vacations, all the nature’s wonders close by. However, this article is based on the safety and security of travelers and photographers in in common. You can only have the moment of your life, under the sun, diving or photographing, only if you are safe and secure. Therefore read along.
On top of everything your safety and security comes first when traveling. So always be careful to know the local religious customs and ways of life of anywhere you are visiting. And respect those beliefs in your photographic approach. Ask around, or confirm with your hotel, about a good guide and pay him or her well. A good guide will be as helpful in getting good pictures as your technique. Be generous when tipping, but don’t flash a lot of bills around. It is important that you do not draw interest to yourself by carrying or wearing expensive things which may flaunt a level of wealth that would invite ill feelings or disapproval, or worse.
Personal Safety and Security:
Though you are lost in natures wonders, your personal security should be the main concern. Simply being aware of your surroundings, and being a bit more wary of what you are doing, is the best and least costly way to guard yourself and your gear. Also it is safer to place your equipment either in the provided hotel room safe when not in use, or locked up in your luggage while out of your hotel room. Be up to date, prepared and do more to guarantee your safety than anything else.
Last but not least, always remember that you’re a tourist in their country. So be polite and respectful, which makes everyone more aware of how much we all have in common, rather than drawing attention to our differences. And be aware that the irritating vendors are really just trying to make a living. You can make a trip of a lifetime by keeping your eyes and ears open.
One final thing to remember is that you can’t go back in time. Taking photos is a great way of capturing the memory, but don’t forget to enjoy the trip itself – this sounds like a simple advice, but many devoted photographers find that they get so wrapped up in taking all the ‘perfect shots’, that they end up missing the vacations itself, and they lose out on enjoying the trip (as well as missing the time spent with their families or travel companions). So don’t forget to put the camera down, smell the roses, and enjoy the trip – if you miss that perfect shot, you can always buy a postcard!

Traveling is fun only if you are prepared. It is vital that you learn some key phrases in the language of where you are visiting. Be prepared with proper clothing for the climate you’re visiting.
Packing Tips:
First step is to, plan on bringing an accessory bag or backpack – it’s not a setback if you don’t have a custom camera accessory bag, depending on the size of your camera and accessories, a small backpack or purse will do just all right. You just need to check your gear in something a bit more secure. One essential item to take is an extra charged battery or two – you never want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere, with the perfect shot poised in front of you, and have your battery die – most trips only provide for limited opportunities at a particular photo op, so take full benefit of the time you have. People with interest in professional photography can check maldives directory to learn about some very attractive and desirable spots to take perfect photographs.
Another must-have accessory is more storage space – either an additional memory card/stick or two or some way to download photos while on the road to free up space. A common frustration is being ready to take a photo, realizing that you’re out of space, and being forced to delete previous photos to make room – you never want to be in the position of having to delete one great memory to capture another. Another travel photography accessory that frequently gets forgotten about is a tripod. Many companies sell small handy tripods that can be thrown in a purse or camera bag, and are useful when taking highly composed shots, low light pictures, or capturing a great photo of friends and family at a get-together.
Travel Photography:
Keeping notes to refer to on your trip about a story linked to your shots, including the fun stuff can be helpful. People shots require people skills, so be friendly and sensitive to their feelings about being photographed. Keep the camera at eye level for people shots and try using a diffuser with fill flash to soften harsh light to make the eyes stand out. That’s where the sharpest focus should be.
Compose as a photographer, not as a painter and use the light to your advantage. For instance, try and take a different viewpoint of your subject than the normal shot everyone else takes. Shoot both horizontal and vertical shots. Pay close attention to the background and keep the foreground strong. Reflections can often add impact. But, reflection on the front of your lens is a bad thing, so use lens shades that work with whatever filters you want to use, like a good polarizer.
One such example of an ideal place to take wonderful travel photographs of the nature’s wonders is the Maldives.
