2010 Summer Fashion Tips (For Men)

It’s that time of year again; summer is here and with it comes a host of new trends for men this season.

For a casual look this summer, men are sporting fitted blazers over light colored, short sleeved button downs. With a pushed up blazer sleeve you will look cool and sexy. Worn with jeans to keep it casual a navy or khaki blazer pulls the look together nicely, for almost any occasion.

A must-have summer accessory that coordinates well with any type of outfit is a short scarf. It’s a great alternative for guys who don’t like ties. Everywhere you look this season, you’ll see men’s scarves, which are tied around the neck for casual occasions. For formal wear, a short silk scarf is wrapped around the neck over a button-down, with the ends tucked into the neck opening.

If you want to look relaxed and chilled this summer then go for a formal appearing vest with a fitted t-shirt, finished off with jeans. You can wear the vest with cargo shorts on a particularly hot day, choose light and bright colors for the real summer look. Plaid vests with buttons undone is also something that looks great.

To continue the trend of formal and casual fashion combos, try to pair a dress shirt with a the buttons left open to mid chest, and the sleeves rolled up to expose those manly forearms. The mix of this dressy shirt worn casually with jeans or cargo pants even looks good with nice shorts and flip flops.

White is making a return as the color of summer for men’s fashions. For another trendy look, wear white cotton trousers, flip-flops, and a sailor shirt with blue and white stripes. Sailor stripes are definitely in this summer, and they always look best when paired with white, so use variations of this style when you’re going out at night. A sailor shirt looks great with a navy blue or white blazer, and cotton trousers in white or navy blue. Using these pieces, you have plenty of combinations to experiment with.

Now that you know what you need get shopping. By shopping online and taking advantage of sales and exclusive online offers, you can be ready to hit the town in your new wardrobe this weekend!

Get In Your Xmas Pressie Buying Early This Year

OK, so we men are fairly useless when it comes to buying presents, at any time of the year. I know it’s only June, but if we’re really honest with ourselves we’ll admit we leave it all until Christmas Eve (and even then it’s normally something awful bought at the last minute).

This year will be different however. Just like our good ladies who seem to buy Christmas gifts as early as the January sales, this year, we should provide them with something unique, classy and purchased well before the day of present giving, turkey stuffing, the Queen’s speech and the inevitable family feud/children being sick/annoying/noisy (delete as applicable).

It might also be worthwilse trying to find a Xmas gifts that not only satisfies the good lady, but also works for men. Although if the Simpsons has taught us anything, don’t go buying her a bowling ball. You want to aim for something that’s clearly a gift for the woman of the house, but that you’d have no problem using once the good lady was out of the house.

One of the things our hard-pressed women folk struggle to do at this time of year is relax, so why not go for the perfect Christmas gift for her The new ‘Massage Cushion’. This soft, extremely comfortable pillow includes a built-in motor that will massage your head and neck as you rest. It’s dead easy to use no matter where you want to chill out and, best of all, you can enjoy the look on the mother-in-law’s face as you explain that your thoughtful gift for her daughter takes batteries and vibrates.
